I'm traveling so I'm really into talking about all things vacation + sex right now. Have you ever had a vacation fling? Should you have one? Let's talk about it!

Did you catch someone's eye across the bar and you're wondering if you should go over and say hi? But you're on vacation, so nothing serious would come of it. Do you still want to do it? That's kind of the whole point of a fling. And meeting someone on vacation sets the temporary tone of it even more.
That's a really common motivation for some people. The idea that it won't last and you just have a few days together can be a turn-on. Usually, the notion is that you'll both go your separate ways after the trip (or after the encounter if that's what you prefer). So what do you think?
I say, embrace your wants and go for it! Obviously be safe, let your companions know where you might be, and practice safe sex.

Last time I was on a cruise, there was a singles event so all of the solo sailors could get to know each other. Even though I was there with my family, I still went to check it out to meet new people. That's where I met my vacation fling ;)
The tried and true for the newer generations: dating apps. The dating apps let you set your location so you can easily find other people looking for a fling in the same area as you. This could be a good chance to check out a local place and meet someone new.
Safety tips for vacation hookups
Traveling and dating both come with safety concerns on their own, so it's important to be extra cautious when combining the two. Make sure to let others know where you're going, be clear about your expectations and boundaries, and practice safe sex. If at any point you feel weird about the person or the interaction, find a safe way to leave.
Be careful about who you give out your information to on vacation. This just goes without saying in every day life too, but be cautious when telling people where you're staying or when you'll be out. Tourists can be easy prey if they're not on alert.

This is the point when you can decide whether or not to stay in touch. For me, my vacation fling and I were actually going back to the same area, but I decided to just keep it casual and end it there. We went away with no hard feelings and enjoyed our time.
